And We Danced
Have you ever been in love with someone that you would do anything for that person? Even if that one thing involved laying your life down for them. You are yielded to every substance of their being and you refuse to make any steps without their consent. Well, I feel that way about Jesus. I am in love with Him all over again and nothing can make me trade my life that I have with Him for anything in the world. I am completely sold, dedicated, and committed to my True Love. He makes me feel important and assures me that I am loved and worth dying for.
This past weekend, I went on a women’s retreat with a group of ladies from ministries I am a part of. The retreat was in Cleveland, Texas at Touched By Grace Ministries. He romanced me this weekend at the retreat in a non-sexual way but an intimate way. He took my hand and dance with me to His medley, His beat. Spun me around without letting go my hands and kept me close to His bosom. He allowed me to lay my head on His chest while I cried uncontrollably at every turn as we spun. It was beautiful and lovely and life changing. Have you ever dance with Daddy God? You should try it, He really dances, but you have to have a child like faith to imagine Him spinning and slowly dancing with you. I’m in love with Him and I can’t stop thinking about Him. “I lie awake thinking of You, meditating on You through the night” Psalm 63:6 became alive to me. I went to sleep last night with God on my mind. I woke up in the middle of the night thanking and acknowledging His presence. When I got up to get my son ready for school, I thought about Him and I was able to help my son in a different way. I have a hunger that only aches and long for Him. A thirst that only He can fill. Wow, He left an impression on me. A mark that I hope will never go away. I feel Him now, present and hovering over me. “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs” Zephaniah 3:17.
Never have I felt so sure of what love is until now. Never have I wanted more of God until now. With a pure heart, I can say give me Jesus, you can have this whole world including every relationship, every penny, everything, but give me Jesus. Now I understand David when He said do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me, Psalm 51:11. God is so patient and kind that even though He has a choice to cast me aside, He is faithful to His promise that He said He will never leave me or forsake me. I pray you would experience God on a whole new level, an intimate way. You would never compare Him to other things. You would not think about anything except Christ. You wouldn’t want anything except the things that will keep the Holy Spirit by you. So, worship music would be playing in the background (in the mind too), your bible will be at arms reach, your spiritual hunger would become more of a priority than your physical hunger. Feed it, feed your spiritual hunger. Don’t let it go starving. God is calling you up, don’t ignore His call.
In conclusion, when you get a chance, dance with Daddy God. Alone, just you and Daddy. Play, We dance by Steffany Gretzinger, totally breathtaking and let me know how what happened during and after your dance. I had a lot of fear before I left to go on the retreat, but now I realize that love is more powerful than any fear tactic. LOVE IS MORE POWERFUL THAN FEAR! Woo! God is greater and alive. Be blessed.
