Hi there! My name is Arabia Trishea and I’m gonna tell you more about myself here in a little, but first I want to welcome you to The Cultured Mom. I am so grateful you decided to join me here. This is a safe place for you to relax, gather information, meet new moms who are striving towards the same goal, parent more effectively, and build a connection with your child.
As an encourager, a daughter, sister, friend, student, teacher, and the mother of an ah-mazing teenager son, Christopher Zyyon, I find joy in connecting with others! I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Currently I am pursing my masters in theology and still figuring out how I want to use my degrees. I am originally from Monroe, Louisiana and the fourth child out of five.
I started blogging back in 2010 after the tragic death of my son’s father who was killed by the police in 2009. Blogging is a passion of mines and a hobby I use to encourage myself and others. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I desire to raise my child to be a Christ follower as well; I do so by modeling Christ like behavior as well as building him up on biblical principles. I realized early on in my parenting journey that I wasn’t raising just a child, but instead someone who will be an asset or liability in society. I recognize that I will give account to God for my actions on earth including my time as a parent, so I take this call as a mother very seriously and I’m passionate about encouraging others to do so too.
When I am not blogging or doing schoolwork, I enjoy bike riding, leisure reading, diy projects, dancing, singing, spending time with family and friends, binge watching a good series and watching football. I am a coffee drinker but not obsessed with it. I love sunflowers, watching butterflies and finding feathers. Feathers are significant to me. Every time I see one, it stops my mental thought and places my focus back on God’s protection and his security for me. I’ve always been a big advocate of intentional parenting and investing in your child’s life. Our biggest investment (or ministry for my church folks) is raising our child(ren) to be God-fearing Christian. I desire to simply partner alongside other moms and caregivers to be the cheerleader and encouragement coach they need through my blogging, podcast, and other resources.
So, grab your favorite beverage (mines would be hot coffee with hazelnut creamer, no sugar- no judgment lol), favorite journal, and enter my virtual “mom-cave”.
